SUSTAINABLE DELAWARE 2010
New Design for the New Climate:
Land Use Pattern, Efficiency, Renewables

Wednesday, September 22nd
at the Virden Center at University of Delaware, Lewes
Friday, September 24th
at Clayton Hall at University of Delaware, Newark

The 5th annual Sustainable Delaware conference organized by the Delaware Chapter of The American Institute of Architects (AIA Delaware) presents a more wholistic perspective than in years past and features new partners. The two-day conference - the first day at the Virden Center at the University of Delaware’s Lewes Campus - and the second day at the University’s Clayton Hall in Newark.

The event is expected to attract several exhibitors, 50 presenters, and many leaders of Delaware leading the new design of sustainability and for the new energy economy of the future.

AIA Delaware’s Sustainable Delaware conference is the only Delaware event to wholistically consider the three-legged stool of sustainability: land use patter reform, renewable energy and energy efficiency as perceived by the design professions of planning, landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, building science and health planning, environmental urbanism, historic preservation, environmental protection and public policy. Special attention is paid to designing walkable, healthy, and sustainable communities for all age groups, as essential to carbon-neutral design, America’s obesity epidemic and Aging in Place for seniors.

Leading scientists, designers, planners and the state’s policy makers will be attending the conference. Space is limited, especially on the first day at the Virden Center in Lewes - send your registration today.
